Panoramic monitoring of medium-voltage distribution overhead lines
To effectively monitor the operational status of overhead distribution lines, promptly identify potential fault risks, quickly locate faults after they occur, and enhance operational efficiency and power supply reliability, an online monitoring system for overhead distribution lines based on medium-voltage IoT distribution terminals (XTU) is proposed. While performing conventional distribution feeder automation functions, this system collects and analyzes the status of its components (or modules), gathers data from line T-joint temperature sensors, ice-coating sensors, galloping sensors, and fault traveling wave or hidden traveling wave currents. It performs fault early warning judgment and fault traveling wave information processing at the terminal equipment and transmits the results to the distribution automation master station system, ultimately making them available to operation personnel via the IoT master station system to enhance distribution operation and inspection quality and efficiency.
